The Squish is 1.5 months old (11 weeks)
Hike #5

This was such a special hike, because The Squish and I joined his Aunt Angie (Aaron's sister) for this one!
There were a lot of cars, but I don't remember it feeling like the trail was crowded.
Everyone was friendly, and there were places to pull to the side of the trail to pass/be passed.

The Squish slept for part of the hike, but was definitely more alert this time!
He really enjoyed watching the trees and bushes right to the side of the trail.

There weren't many non-carrier spots on this trail, that is: spots to take baby out of the carrier and either lay down on the ground, or feed/diaper change.
You could make it work, but we ended up diaper changing, and feeding The Squish at a bench just past the technical end of this hike. Right after the bridge, if you go a little farther, there is a bench just to the right of the trail. It was shaded, and probably remains shaded for most of the day as well.
In fact, a majority of this trail was shaded.

We didn't realize where the end of the hike was, so we kept going, and the trail became overgrown, and started meandering back down towards the freeway.
Some guys coming the other way informed us there was "nothing but another parking lot" further down the trail.
Not sure to the accuracy of that, but we turned back at this point ourselves.
We got some extra steps, and elevation gain in, though! (we felt it the next day)

Note: this is a nice one to do in the beginning months, if you live local to Seattle, because it's so close! Especially if your own squish doesn't do so well in the car.

alert, but not always interested in the hike
